End User Hardware and Software Technician

The technician provides IT technical support to local users, and remote support to offices outside of the greater Harrisburg area. Additional responsibilities include supporting, maintaining, and configuring staff desktop PCs, laptops, VMWare virtual servers, client applications, printers, and other end-user devices.

Responsibilities

Job Duties
 Installs, configures, and supports desktop PCs, thin clients, and laptops with client operating systems, client network configurations, host security, remote access, line of business applications, and office productivity
software applications.
 Utilizes system event logs to administer, troubleshoot, and resolve host client issues; utilizes client and server tools to patch operating systems and software applications; installs, uninstalls, and upgrades system hardware and software.
 Configures and supports user access to SharePoint Online and OneDrive resources.
 Configures and troubleshoots local and network multi-function printers, copiers, and scanning devices.
 Supports, maintains, and configures physical and virtual servers for file or print sharing and application hosting.
 Administers client-server virtual machine images and duplicates images, creates image templates, and makes virtual machines available for end users’ access and use.
 Coordinates hardware repair activities with vendors and AOPC/IT staff and diagnoses hardware and software problems with vendor phone support.
 Utilizes tools such as Systems Center Configuration Manager for client systems management, application deployment, virtual application deployment, asset management, and remote client assistance; utilizes tools for remote end-user support.
 Configures and supports client wireless connections on laptops, iPads, iPhones, Air Cards, and other SmartPhone
devices.

Required Experience

Minimum Qualifications
 Associate’s degree in any IT field AND
 One year of technical experience in end-user support and server/peripheral support

Preferred Experience

Satisfactory criminal background check required.  Valid driver’s license required.
