Sr. Accountant

The Sr. Accountant will perform corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounting research, chart of accounts and financial statement maintenance, workflow management, and other duties as assigned or required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant job responsibilities include:

Perform general ledger accounting and month-end accounting functions, including journal entries and analysis worksheets to support month-end results
Complete monthly close procedures
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, follow up on account discrepancies
Perform financial analysis and present results to upper management
Maintain fixed asset reporting software and prepare related accounting entries and reconciliations
Manage the construction-in-progress projects and accounting entries and reconciliations
Be a liaison to third party sales & use a tax preparer, and manage relationships
Prepare monthly sales and use tax journal entries and reconciliations
Perform sales & use tax research as needed, issue Reseller permits, investigate tax discrepancies
Assist with audit requests and tax schedules
Provide backup support for payment processing
Perform other projects as required

Required Experience

Requirements

Three to five years of accounting/finance experience
Strong Excel skills and automated financial systems experience along with Microsoft Office
Experience in large ERP systems is strongly preferred
Bank reconciliation preferred not required
City Tax experience preferred not required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
Ability to present financial analysis and results to upper management
Sense of urgency and self-motivation, ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
Excellent written and oral communication skills

He/she will take job meetings and provide minutes from those meetings to share with the office. He/she will pull permits and call for inspections. He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
