SQL Server DBA

SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MS SQL Server systems, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and recoverability of data for a wide variety of in-house developed applications and off-the-shelf software.

Responsibilities

 Manage SQL Server implementations across all environments from development through testing to production.
 Maintain database servers and processes to ensure high levels of integrity, reliability, and recoverability while keeping performance and security in line with industry standards.
 Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
 Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
 Assist in providing 24×7 support for critical production systems.
 Perform scheduled maintenance, which includes the deployment of CUs and Hotfixes Outside Regular Business Hours.
 Participate in an on-call rotation.

Required Experience

Minimum Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field. Minimum of one year of IT experience involving the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in support of overall database administration.
 A satisfactory criminal check is required

Preferred Experience

Technical Requirements  3+ years of MSSQL server administration experience is required.  Extensive experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.  Proficiency with writing T-SQL code.  Moderate experience with High Availability (HA) options.  Moderate experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) options.  Moderate experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).  Moderate experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).  Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.  MS Dynamics CRM MSSQL server administration experience.  SharePoint MSSQL server administration experience.  TFS MSSQL server administration experience.  BIS for Visual Studio experience.  Windows Server administration experience.  VMWare vSphere experience.

The Senior Database Administrator is an expert in SQL Server database systems, configuration best practices, and performance optimizations. They are responsible for proactively monitoring production database systems, resolving performance issues, optimizing existing systems and collaborating with the development and operations teams. He/she will take job meetings and provide minutes from those meetings to share with the office. He/she will pull permits and call for inspections. He/she will work with other subcontractors and organize fire alarm, security, etc. He/she will coordinate with the job foreman and make sure all close out documents, time sheets and paperwork are sent back to the office. Oversees the safety of the job site and makes sure all toolbox talks are completed weekly. If there are any special safety concerns, makes owners and office aware of them.
